5 EYEWITNESS NEWS MORNING – MARRIAGE MILESTONES CONTEST
OFFICIAL RULES
1. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. In order to enter, from 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, through 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, go to www.kstp.com, click on the keyword "contests", and complete the entry form which includes submitting a photograph of you or someone you know who is celebrating a marriage milestone; the email entry must also include a short story in 200 words or less as to the secret to the success of the marriage, which milestone you are celebrating and your name, address and telephone number. 5 Eyewitness News is not responsible for problems sending the entry, technical or atmospheric conditions that disrupt the completion of the entry, or any other problems which might or might not result from this contest. Limit, one entry per person/couple; any person/couple submitting more than one entry, an entry without a photograph/story or an entry longer than 200 words may be disqualified. If you are entering someone other than yourself in this contest, you must have that couple’s permission to enter them in this contest.
2. HOW TO PLAY/HOW THE WINNER IS CHOSEN: Enter as explained in Paragraph 1 above. From all eligible entries submitted, the Executive Producer of 5 Eyewitness News Morning in his/her sole discretion, will determine five (5) winners based on, but not limited to, the following judging criteria: the milestone being celebrating (which anniversary – 20, 25th, 50th, etc.) (49%) and the compelling story regarding the marriage’s success (51%). The top five (5) highest scoring entries from among all entries received will be deemed the winners. On February 8, February 11, February 12, February 13 and February 14, 2013, one (1) of the five (5) winning couple’s photo will be shown and their secret to success story will be read on 5 Eyewitness Morning between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Each winner will also be notified by telephone. Each winning couple’s photo will be shown and their secret to success story also read on Channel 45 News each morning between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
3. CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE: Each prize will be mailed to the winner’s home address. KSTP-TV is not responsible for problems resulting from the mailing of the prize to the winners’ home address. Any unclaimed prizes remain the property of Twin Cities Live.
4. PRIZE: There will five (5) winning couples in this contest. Each winning couple will receive a $75 Visa gift card. The gift cards are subject to the policies, practices and procedures of Visa. Each winning couple will also receive the Billy Joel Love Songs CD valued at $12. From the five (5) winning couples, one name will be randomly drawn to be the winner of a Billy Joel CD Box set valued at $250.
A qualified winner must also meet the eligibility requirements as set forth in Paragraph 5 of these rules. Each winner is responsible for paying all applicable income taxes. A 1099 form may be submitted to all appropriate taxing authorities, and by signing the Prize Release, each winner accepts the prize, and even if a winner does not use the prize/trip, he/she will be responsible for the applicable taxes.
5. ELIGIBILITY: Individuals must be 18 years or older and residents of Minnesota or in order to be eligible to participate in this contest. Employees of Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc. and KSTP-TV, including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter. Any one participating in this contest or claiming a prize in this contest in violation of these rules will be deemed to have forfeited the right to be awarded a prize in this contest and will be disqualified from participating in 5 Eyewitness News contests for a period of one year.
By entering this contest, each entrant is certifying that he or she is not a professional photographer, that the submitted photograph is his or her own original work, and that he or she has the right to allow the publication of the photograph without restriction, and that KSTP-TV's use of the photograph will not infringe the rights of any third parties (e.g., copyrights, rights of publicity, etc.).
6. CONTEST DEADLINE. All entries must be received by KSTP-TV no later than 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2013.
7. RELEASE; CONSENT TO USE LIKENESS, VOICE AND ADDRESS: Each winner may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility. Each person entering this contest (a) agrees to release and indemnify Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc. and KSTP-TV, LLC (including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies) from and against any and all liability, claims, damages and actions arising directly or indirectly out of or sustained in connection with the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize(s), and (b) consents to the use by KSTP-TV for promotional purposes only of his likeness and/or voice, address (city and state) and his or her contest entry (which may be posted on the KSTP-TV website and/or shown on the air) without any additional compensation. By accepting the prize, each winner agrees to be bound by these official rules, including the above release.
9. WINNER LIST: For the names of the winners, send a separate self-addressed, stamped envelope before March 15, 2013, to Winners List, KSTP-TV, Marriage Milestones Contest, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota 55114.
10. MISCELLANEOUS:
Decisions of KSTP-TV concerning any and all matters with respect to this contest shall be final. KSTP-TV reserves the right to change these rules, as well as the terms and conditions of this contest, without notice. KSTP-TV reserves the right to change the prize values at any time, or to substitute prizes of comparable value. Contest void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable. KSTP-TV is not responsible for printing errors in the contest materials or these official rules.
