TWIN CITIES LIVE – CO-HOST FOR THE DAY CONTEST 

OFFICIAL RULES

1.         HOW TO ENTER:  NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  In order to enter, from 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, through 11:59:59 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013, go to the www.twincitieslive.com website, click on the "Co-Host for the Day” icon and complete the entry form, which includes your name, address, telephone number, and submit a photograph of yourself, along with a video (up to 5 minutes in length) which must include your name and answers to the following questions:   (1) What do you do for a living?  (2)  Where do you live?  (3)  What is your best kept secret in the area?  (4)  Who would you love to interview?  (5)  Why do you want to guest co-host for the day? And (6) What is the weirdest situation you have ever been in?  KSTP-TV is not responsible for problems accessing the website or completing the entry, technical or atmospheric conditions that disrupt the completion of the entry, or any other problems which might or might not result from this contest.  Any person submitting more than one entry or an entry longer than 5 minutes in duration may be disqualified.

2.         SELECTION PROCESS/HOW THE WINNERS ARE CHOSEN:  Enter as explained in Paragraph 1 above.  From all eligible entries submitted, a panel of judges comprised of staff members from Twin Cities Live and Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., in their sole discretion, will select up to twenty (20) people (hereinafter referred to as "Finalists") based on, but not limited to, the following judging criteria:  on-air presence (24%); ability to speak clearly (25%); personality (25%) and perceived chemistry with Elizabeth Ries (26%).  In the event of a tie, the Finalist with the highest score in the "perceived chemistry with Elizabeth Ries" category will be deemed a Finalist.  The selected Finalists will be notified before Thursday, February 7, 2013, and will be required to present themselves at the Twin Cities Live Studios at an assigned time on Saturday, February 9, 2013, for a recorded audition in front of Twin Cities Live and Hubbard Broadcasting staff members; each Finalist will need to be at the Twin Cities Live Studios for up to four (4) hours on Saturday, February 9, 2013.

From the up to twenty (20) finalists that appear at the Twin Cities Live Studios on Saturday, February 9, 2013, five (5) winners (“Finalists”) and two (2) alternates will be chosen by a panel of judges comprised of staff members from Twin Cities Live and Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., in their sole discretion, based on, but not limited to, the following judging criteria:  on-air presence (24%); ability to speak clearly (25%); personality (25%) and chemistry with Elizabeth Ries (26%).  In the event of a tie, the Finalist with the highest score in the "chemistry with Elizabeth Ries" category will be deemed a winner.  The Finalists and alternates will be notified by Wednesday, February 13, 2013, and will be assigned the day on which he/she will co-host Twin Cities Live.  The selected Finalists and alternates will be required to present themselves at the Twin Cities Live Studios for an orientation at an as yet to be determined date/time.  If a Finalist is not able to attend the required orientation at the designated time, the Finalist shall forfeit their right to participate in this contest and the highest scoring alternate will take that Finalists place as the Finalist. The orientation consists of a studio tutorial, including information regarding FCC rules and regulations and basic training re being an on-air host.  Each Finalist will be required to sign a release.  If a Finalist is not able to perform as a Co-Host on Twin Cities Live on the date and time assigned, or if they are disqualified, they shall forfeit their right to participate further in this contest and the highest scoring alternate will be selected to participate.  Twin Cities Live reserves the right to decrease the amount of Finalists and/or alternates throughout the contest period based on a lack of qualified submissions, or disqualification for any reason at Sponsor’s sole discretion.

3.         CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE:  The winners will need to appear at the Twin Cities Live Studios on their assigned day from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. the week of February 18, 2013.

4.         PRIZE:  There will be five (5) winners in this contest.  Each winner will get the opportunity to co-host one Twin Cities Live program during the week of February 18, 2013.  Each winner will also receive a DVD of Twin Cities Live from the day he/she co-hosts, and the winner will be able to invite up to ten (10) people to sit in the Twin Cities Live audience on the day he/she co-hosts.  The winners will not become employees of KSTP-TV and will not be compensated for their services. A qualified winner must also meet the eligibility requirements as set forth in Paragraph 5 of these rules.  By signing the Prize Release, each winner accepts the prize, and even if the winner does not use the prize/trip, he/she will be responsible for the applicable taxes. 

5.         ELIGIBILITY:  Individuals must be 21 years or older and residents of Minnesota or Wisconsin in order to be eligible to participate in this contest.  Employees of Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc. and KSTP-TV, LLC, including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies, and their immediate families, or individuals currently on-air at any television or radio station, are not eligible to enter. 

6.         CONTEST DEADLINE.  All entries must be received by Twin Cities Live no later than 11:59:59 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013. 

7.         RELEASE; CONSENT TO USE LIKENESS, VOICE AND ADDRESS:  Each winner must execute an affidavit of eligibility.  Each person entering this contest (a) agrees to release and indemnify Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc. and KSTP-TV, LLC (including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies) from and against any and all liability, claims, damages and actions arising directly or indirectly out of or sustained in connection with the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize(s), and (b) consents to the use by KSTP-TV for promotional purposes only of his likeness and/or voice, address (city and state) his or her contest entry (which may be posted on the KSTP-TV website and/or shown on the air), and the filming of the winner's appearance on Twin Cities Live without any additional compensation.  By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to be bound by these official rules, including the above release.

8.         WINNER LIST:  For the names of the winners, send a separate self-addressed, stamped envelope before March 31, 2013, to Winners List, Twin Cities Live, Co-Host for the Day Contest, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota  55114.

9.       MISCELLANEOUS: 

            Decisions of KSTP-TV concerning any and all matters with respect to this contest shall be final.  KSTP-TV reserves the right to change these rules, as well as the terms and conditions of this contest, without notice. KSTP-TV reserves the right to change the prize values at any time, or to substitute prizes of comparable value. Contest void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.  Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable.  KSTP-TV is not responsible for printing errors in the contest materials or these official rules.

All entrants may be subject to a background check, and KSTP-TV reserves complete control over its programming and over-the-air content.   KSTP-TV may, in its sole discretion and without notice, rescind its offer of an on-air opportunity, and all on-air performances are subject to being discontinued without notice.  All on-air performances must comply with KSTP-TV's program standards and all state and federal laws, including all applicable FCC rules.  All on-air performances will be recorded and are the intellectual property of KSTP-TV.
