TWIN CITIES LIVE - "THE LAST STAND" EVERYDAY HERO CONTEST

OFFICIAL RULES

1.         HOW TO ENTER:  NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  In order to enter, from 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013, through 11:59:59 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013,  go to the www.twincitieslive.com website, go to the contest section of the website, click on the “Everyday Hero” icon and complete the entry form, which includes explaining in 250 words or less why the person you are nominating is an "everyday hero"; entries must also include your name, address, daytime telephone number and email address, and the name, address and telephone number of the person you nominate, along with a photograph of the person you nominate.  KSTP-TV is not responsible for problems accessing the website, technical or atmospheric conditions that disrupt the completion of the entry, or any other problems which might or might not result from this contest.  Viewers may enter this contest more than once, but can only nominate a specific person once.  

2.         HOW THE WINNER IS CHOSEN/JUDGING CRITERIA:  From all eligible entries submitted pursuant to Paragraph 1 above, a panel of judges comprised of Twin Cities Live staff members, in their sole and absolute discretion, will determine the winner based on, but not limited to, how well the entry is written (49%) and what the nominated person has done that makes him/her an everyday hero (51%).  The entry with the highest score using the judging criteria will be selected as the winner, and be surprised by Twin Cities Live staff and camera the week of January 14, 2013; the surprise will air on Twin Cities Live on Friday, January 18, 2013; the winner must be comfortable being filmed and telling his/her story.  Twin Cities Live staff will work with the nominating person for the winner to surprise the winner at his/her home or work or elsewhere as determined.  In the event of a tie, the entry with the highest score in the “what the nominated person has done that makes him/her an "everyday hero” criteria will be deemed the winner from among all tying entries.

3.         CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE:  The winner will be asked to stop by the KSTP-TV Studios, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota, during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) within ten (10) days of the day he/she wins to claim his/her prize.  When claiming a prize at the KSTP-TV Studios, the winner must prove he is a qualified winner by presenting identification acceptable to the sponsors (e.g., state drivers license; state issued identification card; valid passport with address verification; or birth certificate with social security card and photo identification and address verification).  If the winner cannot prove they are the qualified winner, another winner will be chosen by the panel of judges.

4.         PRIZE:  There will be one (1) winner in this contest. The winner is the person who has been nominated as the everyday hero, and not the person submitting the entry form. The winner will receive a $1,000 American Express gift card.  The gift card is subject to the policies, practices and procedures governing American Express gift card.    If the winner is a minor (under 18 years of age), the prize must be accepted by the winner's parent or legal guardian.

            The prize is not transferable or exchangeable, nor can it be exchanged for cash or credit.  A qualified winner must also meet the eligibility requirements as set forth in Paragraph 5 of these rules.  All income taxes and other taxes are the responsibility of the winner.  A 1099 form will be submitted to all appropriate taxing authorities. 

5.         ELIGIBILITY:  Individuals must be 18 years or older, or have written permission to enter from a parent or legal guardian, to be eligible to participate in this contest and legal residents of Wisconsin or Minnesota.  Employees of Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., KSTP-TV, LLC, Allied Integrated Marketing and Lionsgate, including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.  In order to be eligible to win a prize in this contest, you cannot have won and accepted any prize from Twin Cities Live within 30 days prior to the awarding of a prize to you in this contest, or won and accepted any prize or combination of prizes with a total stated value of $1,000.00 or more from Twin Cities Live within 365 days prior to the awarding of a prize to you in this contest.

6.         CONTEST DEADLINE.  All entries must be received by Twin Cities Live no later than 11:59:59 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013. 

7.         RELEASE; CONSENT TO USE LIKENESS, VOICE AND ADDRESS:  The winner must execute an affidavit of eligibility.  Each person entering this contest (a) agrees to release and indemnify Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., KSTP-TV, LLC, Allied Integrated Marketing and Lionsgate (including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies) from and against any and all liability, claims, damages and actions arising directly or indirectly out of or sustained in connection with the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize, and (b) consents to the use by KSTP-TV for promotional purposes only of his likeness and/or voice, address (city and state) and his or her contest entry (which may be posted on the KSTP-TV website and/or read on the air) and  the filming of the surprise awarding of the prize without any additional compensation.  By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to be bound by these official rules, including the above release. 

8.         WINNER LIST:  For the name of the winner, send a separate self-addressed, stamped envelope before February 15, 2013, to Winners List, KSTP-TV, The Last Stand Everyday Hero Contest, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota  55114.

9.         MISCELLANEOUS: 

            Decisions of KSTP-TV concerning any and all matters with respect to this contest shall be final.  KSTP-TV reserves the right to change these rules, as well as the terms and conditions of this contest, without notice.  KSTP-TV reserves the right to change the prize values at any time, or to substitute prizes of comparable value.  Contest void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.  Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable.  KSTP-TV is not responsible for printing errors in the contest materials or these official rules.
