TWIN CITIES LIVE – IKEA CLOSET MAKEOVER
OFFICIAL RULES
1. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. In order to enter, from 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2013, through 11:59:59 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2013, go to the www.twincitieslive.com website, click on the "IKEA Closet Makeover” icon and complete the entry form, which includes stating in 250 words or less why you need a closet makeover, and a photograph of the closet you want made-over. KSTP-TV is not responsible for problems accessing the website or completing the entry, technical or atmospheric conditions that disrupt the completion of the entry, or any other problems which might or might not result from this contest. Any person submitting more than one entry, an entry containing more than 250 words or an entry without a photograph attached may be disqualified.
2. HOW TO PLAY/HOW THE WINNER IS CHOSEN: Enter as explained in Paragraph 1 above. From all eligible entries submitted, a panel of judges comprised of staff members from Twin Cities Live, in their sole discretion, will determine the winner based on, but not limited to, the following judging criteria: the photograph submitted (49%) and the explanation of why your closet needs a makeover (51%). The contestant with the highest score using the preceding judging criteria will be deemed the winner. The winner will be contacted via email and telephone. In the event of a tie, the contestant with the highest score in the explanation of why your closet needs a makeover category will be deemed the winner from among all tying contestants.
3. CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE: The winner must claim his/her prize in person at the KSTP-TV Studios, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota 55114, during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) prior to Friday, February 15, 2013. Failure to comply with this deadline shall be deemed to be the winner’s forfeiture of his or her right to claim a prize. The winner must present identification acceptable to KSTP-TV (e.g., state drivers license; state issued identification card; valid passport with address verification; or birth certificate with social security card and photo identification and address verification). If a qualifier winner cannot prove he or she is qualified to accept the prize, the prize will not be awarded. Any unclaimed prize remains the property of Twin Cities Live.
4. PRIZE: There will be one (1) winner in this contest. The winner will receive a closet makeover, which will consist of Twin Cities Live staff and IKEA staff coming to the winner’s home to conduct the closet makeover. Value: Up to $250. The date of the makeover must be on one day during the week of February 18, 2013; the exact date will be determined by the winner, the IKEA representative and Twin Cities Live staff. The winner must be willing to allow Twin Cities Live staff and cameras into their home to capture the makeover. Any warranties and guarantees are strictly limited to the manufacturer’s. A qualified winner must also meet the eligibility requirements as set forth in Paragraph 5 of these rules. The winner is responsible for paying all applicable income taxes. A 1099 form may be submitted to all appropriate taxing authorities, and by signing the Prize Release, each winner accepts the prize, and even if the winner does not use the prize/trip, he/she will be responsible for the applicable taxes.
5. ELIGIBILITY: Individuals must be 21 years or older and residents of Minnesota or Wisconsin in order to be eligible to participate in this contest. Employees of Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., KSTP-TV, LLC and IKEA, including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter. In order to be eligible to win a prize in this contest, you cannot have won and accepted any prize from Twin Cities Live within 30 days prior to the awarding of a prize to you in this contest, or won and accepted any prize or combination of prizes with a total stated value of $1,000.00 or more from Twin Cities Live within 365 days prior to the awarding of a prize to you in this contest.
6. CONTEST DEADLINE. All entries must be received by Twin Cities Live no later than 11:59:59 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013.
7. RELEASE; CONSENT TO USE LIKENESS, VOICE AND ADDRESS: The winner must execute an affidavit of eligibility. Each person entering this contest (a) agrees to release and indemnify Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., KSTP-TV, LLC and IKEA (including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies) from and against any and all liability, claims, damages and actions arising directly or indirectly out of or sustained in connection with the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize(s), and (b) consents to the use by KSTP-TV for promotional purposes only of his likeness and/or voice, address (city and state) his or her contest entry (which may be posted on the KSTP-TV website and/or shown on the air), and the filming of the home office makeover without any additional compensation. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to be bound by these official rules, including the above release.
9. WINNER LIST: For the name of the winner, send a separate self-addressed, stamped envelope before March 15, 2013, to Winners List, Twin Cities Live, IKEA Closet Makeover, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota 55114.
10. MISCELLANEOUS:
Decisions of KSTP-TV concerning any and all matters with respect to this contest shall be final. KSTP-TV reserves the right to change these rules, as well as the terms and conditions of this contest, without notice. KSTP-TV reserves the right to change the prize values at any time, or to substitute prizes of comparable value. Contest void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable. KSTP-TV is not responsible for printing errors in the contest materials or these official rules.
