TWIN CITIES LIVE - LAWN CARE LAWN DARE CONTEST
OFFICIAL RULES
HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. In order to enter, from 3:00 p.m.
on Monday, May 28, 2012, through 11:59:59 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012, go to the
www.twincitieslive.com website, click on the "contest” icon and then click on the "Lawn
Care Lawn Dare" icon and complete the entry form, which includes stating in 500 words
or less why a Dad you know deserves lawn care service for the summer, along with a
photo of yourself and the contact information for the person you are nominating (name,
address, telephone number, email address). KSTP-TV is not responsible for problems
accessing the website or completing the entry, technical or atmospheric conditions that
disrupt the completion of the entry, or any other problems which might or might not
result from this contest. Any person submitting more than one entry, an entry containing
more than 500 words or an entry without a photograph attached may be disqualified at
Sponsor’s sole discretion.
HOW TO PLAY: Enter as explained in Paragraph 1 above. From all eligible entries
submitted, a panel of judges comprised of staff members from Twin Cities Live, in their
sole discretion, will judge the entries on the following criteria: Effectively describing the
person being nominated (49%) and describing why the Dad they are nominating needs a
break from lawn work (51%). The three (3) entrants’s whose entries have the highest
overall scores from among all entries received will be deemed Finalists. The Finalists
will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail on Monday, June 11, 2012, and must be
available to compete for the prize from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13,
2012. In the event of a tie, the entrant with the highest score in the describing why the
Dad they are nominated needs a break from lawn work category will be deemed the
Finalist from among all tying entrants.
To participate in the Lawn Care Lawn Dare competition, each Finalist will need
to present himself/herself at Carousel Park at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds on
Wednesday, June 13, 2012, by 2:00 p.m. to be eligible for a chance to participate
in the Lawn Care Lawn Dare competition and be physically able to compete in
the competition. Substitutes or stand-ins will not be allowed without Twin Cities
Live's prior approval. All Finalists eligible to compete must be eligible to win.
Any Finalist(s) arriving after 2:00 p.m. will forfeit his or her participation in the
competition and, therefore, his or her chance of winning the prize listed in
Paragraph 4 below. Each Finalist must sign a release before participating in the
competition. The Lawn Care Lawn Dare competition may be filmed and Finalists
may be featured on Twin Cities Live, at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
The three (3) Finalists will be asked to compete in an obstacle course, which will
consist of running with scuba flippers on with a lawn mower. The winner will be
the Finalist who crosses the obstacle course's line first and will receive the prize
listed in Paragraph 4 below. If there is a tie, a Rock Paper Scissors contest (best
of three) will be held between the tying Finalists to determine the winner. If all
three Finalists tie, the person who traveled the furthest distance to the location
will get a first round bye.
CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE: The winner will receive his/her prize, after signing the
required paperwork, the day of the event. The winner must prove that he or she is a
qualified winner by presenting identification acceptable to the sponsors (e.g., state drivers
license; state issued identification card; valid passport with address verification; or birth
certificate with social security card and photo identification and address verification).
PRIZE: There will be one (1) prize winner in this contest. The winner will receive a
$500 gift certificate from Warner's Outdoor Solutions, redeemable for lawn care services
within a forty-five (45) mile radius of KSTP-TV, and the certificate may be given to
the person of winner’s choice, but winner will be solely responsible for paying any local,
state or federal taxes of the prize. Some of the services provided by Warner's Outdoor
Solutions include, but are not limited to: fertilizing and weed control; power raking;
core aeration; slit seeding, gypsum; lawn mowing; spring clean-up; fall cleanup; fungus
control; vole/mole control; insect control; sidewalk and driveway edging; mosquito
control; irrigation management; landscaping; landscape maintenance; tree trimming/
pruning/removal; stump grinding; snow removal. The winner will be contacted by
Warner's Outdoor Solutions after the competition. The certificate must be used by
December 31, 2012. The certificate is subject to the policies, practices and procedures of
Warner's Outdoor Solutions.
ELIGIBILITY: Entrants must be 18 years or older and residents of Minnesota or
Wisconsin in order to be eligible to participate in this contest. Employees of Hubbard
Broadcasting, Inc., KSTP-TV, LLC and Warner's Outdoor Solutions, including their
subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies, and their immediate families, are not
eligible to enter. In order to be eligible to win a prize in this contest, you cannot have
won and accepted any prize from Twin Cities Live within 30 days prior to the awarding
of a prize to you in this contest, or won and accepted any prize or combination of prizes
with a total stated value of $1,000.00 or more from Twin Cities Live within 365 days
prior to the awarding of a prize to you in this contest.
By entering this contest, each entrant is certifying that he or she is not a professional
photographer, that the submitted photograph is his or her own original work, and that he
or she has the right to allow the publication of the photograph without restriction, and that
KSTP-TV's use of the photograph will not infringe the rights of any third parties (e.g.,
copyrights, rights of publicity, etc.).
CONTEST DEADLINE. All entries must be received by Twin Cities Live no later than
11:59:59 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012.
RELEASE; CONSENT TO USE LIKENESS, VOICE AND ADDRESS: The winner
must execute an affidavit of eligibility. Each person entering this contest (a) agrees to
release and indemnify Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., KSTP-TV, LLC and Warner's
Outdoor Solutions (including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies)
from and against any and all liability, claims, damages and actions arising directly or
indirectly out of or sustained in connection with the awarding, acceptance or use of the
prize(s), and (b) consents to the use by KSTP-TV for promotional purposes only of his
likeness and/or voice, address (city and state) and his or her contest entry in any manner
or medium without any additional compensation. By accepting the prize, the winner
agrees to be bound by these official rules, including the above release.
WINNER LIST: For the name of the winner, send a separate self-addressed, stamped
envelope before July 15, 2012, to Winners List, Twin Cities Live, Lawn Care Lawn Dare
Contest, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota 55114.

Decisions of KSTP-TV concerning any and all matters with respect to this contest shall
be final. KSTP-TV reserves the right to change these rules, as well as the terms and
conditions of this contest, without notice. KSTP-TV reserves the right to change the
prize values at any time, or to substitute prizes of comparable value. Contest void where
prohibited or otherwise restricted by law. Prizes are not exchangeable but may be
transferred as specifically set forth herein. KSTP-TV is not responsible for printing
errors in the contest materials or these official rules.
