1.HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
People who would like to try to recreate Brian Hoffarber’s “Shot of the Century” at the 2006 Boys Basketball Tournament are invited to enter this contest. To enter this contest, viewers need to “like” Prep45 on Facebook. If you have not already “liked” Prep45 on Facebook, log on to www.kstc.com, click on the Facebook banner ad, which will link you to the Prep45.com Facebook page, or log on to www.prep45.com and click on the Facebook banner ad, where you will need to complete the entry form and register your name, address, email address, and daytime telephone number. If you already “like” Prep45 on Facebook, go to the Prep45 Facebook page and click on the contest link and complete the entry form. Entries will be accepted in this contest from Thursday, March 1, 2012, through 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. KSTC is not responsible for problems accessing the www.kstc45.com or www.Prep45.com websites and/or the Facebook website, or technical or atmospheric conditions that disrupt the completion of the Facebook form, or any other problems which might or might not result from this contest. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook. You are providing information to KSTC and not to Facebook. The information you provide will only be used for notifying winners.
Limit, one entry per person; any person submitting more than one entry may be disqualified.
2.HOW TO WIN: On Thursday, March 15, 2012, one (1) name will be randomly drawn at the Channel 45 Studios from all eligible entries received to be the winner. The winner will be notified by telephone and/or email. The winner will receive the “qualifying” prize listed in Paragraph 4 below. The winner will need to appear at the MSHSL Boys Basketball Tournament session at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012. At half-time of either the 4A Championship Game (8:00 p.m.) the winner will attempt to make the “Shot of the Century” (sitting down on the left side of the basketball hoop in front of the three point line). If the winner makes the shot, he/she wins the “grand prize” listed in Paragraph 4 below. If the winner does not make the shot, no additional prize will be awarded.
3.CLAIMING A PRIZE: The winner must claim his/her prize in person at Channel 45, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota 55114, during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) within ten (10) business days of the day he or she wins to verify that he/she is the qualified winner. If the prize is won by a minor, the prize will be awarded to the minor’s legal guardian. Failure to comply with this deadline shall be deemed to be the winner’s forfeiture of his or her right to claim the grand prize. The winner must prove he or she is a qualified winner by presenting identification acceptable to Channel 45 (e.g., state drivers license; state issued identification card; valid passport with address verification; or birth certificate with social security card and photo identification and address verification). If a winner cannot prove he or she is a qualified winner, the prize will not be awarded. All unclaimed prizes remain the property of Channel 45.. The prize will not be issued to the winner unless a social security number is presented.
4.PRIZE: There will be one winner in this contest.
a.Qualifying Prize. The winner will receive four (4) tickets to the MSHSL Boys Basketball Tournament session on March 24, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. at the Target Center. Value: $56. The tickets are subject to the policies, practices and procedures of the MSHSL and the Target Center.
b.Grand Prize. If the winner makes the “Shot of the Century” as explained in Paragraph 2 above, the winner will receive four (4) tickets to the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. the Phoenix Suns basketball game on April 9, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Value $480. The prize is subject to all applicable policies, practices and procedures of the Minnesota Timberwolves. If the winner does not make the shot as explained in Paragraph 2 above, this prize will not be awarded.
A qualified winner must also meet the eligibility requirements as set forth in Paragraph 5 of these rules. The winner is responsible for paying all applicable income taxes. A 1099 form may be submitted to all appropriate taxing authorities, and by signing the Prize Release, each winner accepts the prize, and even if the winner does not use the prize/trip, he/she will be responsible for the applicable taxes.
Odds of winning the qualifying prize is dependent on the number of eligible entries received.
5.ELIGIBILITY: Individuals must be 13 years or older and residents of Minnesota or Wisconsin to be eligible to win. (If the prize is won by a minor, the prize must be awarded to the minor’s legal guardian. Employees of KSTC-TV, LLC, Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., Warner Stellian, Minnesota State High School League and the Minnesota Timberwolves, or any of their subsidiaries, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter. Anyone participating in this contest or claiming a prize in this contest in violation of these rules will be disqualified from winning a prize in this contest and from participating in KSTC contests for a period of one year. KSTC's decisions in this regard shall be final.
6.RELEASE; CONSENT TO USE LIKENESS, VOICE AND ADDRESS: The winner must execute an affidavit of eligibility. The winner (a) agrees to release KSTC-TV, LLC, Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., Warner Stellian, Minnesota State High School League and the Minnesota Timberwolves (including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies) from any and all liability, claims, damages and actions arising directly or indirectly out of or sustained in connection with the awarding or acceptance of the prize(s), and/or misuse of any prize, and (b) consents to the use KSTC-TV for promotional purposes, of his or her likeness, voice and/or address (city/state) without any additional compensation. By participating in this contest, each participant agrees to the application of these official rules. By accompanying the winner, the winner’s guests agrees to be bound by the terms of these official rules, including the preceding release.
7.WINNER LIST: For the name of the winner, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope before April 15, 2012, to Winners List, Shot of the Century Sweepstakes, KSTC-TV,, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota 55114.
8.MISCELLANEOUS:
Decisions of KSTC-TV concerning any and all matters with respect to this contest shall be final. Contest void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law. KSTC reserves the right to change the prize values at any time. KSTC is not responsible for printing errors in the contest materials or these rules.
