a. How are you making a difference to reduce your carbon footprint through limiting energy consumption (carpooling, composting food scraps, creatively re-using water)? Do you live a socially and healthy lifestyle (encourage family, friends and neighbors to help do their part to keep this planet for generations to come)?

We are looking for couples that: limit energy consumption; practice using renewable energy; reduce/reuse/recycle mined metals/minerals and fossil fuels; avoid toxic substances; find substitutes for hazardous materials, plastics and chemicals; demonstrate care for the earth (protecting biodiversity, eco-systems and natural resources) and live a healthy, socially appropriate life encouraging a sense of ‘community’. You do not need to demonstrate all these qualities, but do need to practice a majority of them. From the entries submitted, a panel of judges comprised of Twin Cities Live staff members and Minnesota Environmental Partnership staff members, in their sole and absolute discretion, will determine three (3) finalists based on, but not limited to, how they answer the questionnaire, using the following criteria (with equal weight for each criteria): creativity, love story and passion for the “green”. The finalists will be notified the week of April 11, 2011. The three (3) finalists will be selected, then personal couple interviews will be conducted to decide the winning couple from among those finalists.
