  1. TWIN CITIES LIVE - 42 TO SAY I DO! CONTEST


    OFFICIAL RULES
     
     
    1.    HOW TO ENTER:  NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  In order to enter, from 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014, through 11:59:59 p.m. on Monday, May 26, 2014, go to the www.twincitieslive.com website, click on the "42 to Say I Do!" icon on the contest page and complete the entry form, which includes your name, the name of your significant other, address, telephone number, email address, a picture of you and your significant other and a video (no longer than 5 minutes in length) answering the following questions:   (1) how you fell in love and (2) why you would like to get married on television.  KSTP-TV is not responsible for problems completing the entry, submission of the photograph, technical or atmospheric conditions that disrupt the completion of the entry, or any other problems which might or might not result from this contest.  One entry per person/couple.  Any person/couple submitting more than one entry, an entry without a photograph attached or an entry whose video is longer than 5 minutes in length may be disqualified.
     
    2.    HOW THE WINNER IS CHOSEN:  Enter pursuant to Paragraph 1 above.  From the entries submitted, a panel of judges comprised of Twin Cities Live staff members, in their sole and absolute discretion, will determine five semi-finalists who receive the five (5) highest scores based on, but not limited to, the following judging criteria: (1) the story of how they fell in love (51%) and, (2) why they want to get married on television (49%).  In the event of a tie, the contestant with the highest score in the how they fell in love category will be deemed the winner from among all tying contestants. Once the five (5) semi-finalists are selected using the preceding judging criteria, personal couple interviews of each semi-finalist couple will be conducted by Twin Cities Live staff on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, to choose the three (3) finalist couples from among those five semi-finalists, and the interviews will be recorded for possible airing on Twin Cities Live on a later date.  The three (3) finalists will be notified on Thursday, May 29, 2014.  The three (3) finalists will then need to be available on Friday, May 30, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to appear live on Twin Cities Live.  Then from 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014, through 11:59:59 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 ("Public Voting Period"), viewers may log on to www.twincitieslive.com and vote for the couple that they would like to win.  Each viewer may vote up to ten (10) times during the Public Voting Period.  On Friday, June 6, 2014, the winning couple with the highest score from among the finalists will be chosen based on the following judging criteria:  (1) viewer voting (50%); and, (2) the person chosen by Twin Cities Live staff (50%).  The couple chosen by Twin Cities Live staff will be judged on the following judging criteria:  (1) personal couple interview (34%), (2) how they fell in love (33%) and, (3) why they want to get married on television (33%).  In the event of a tie, the couple chosen by the Twin Cities Live staff will be deemed the winner.  The winning couple must also be available for the wedding event to be held at the Minneapolis Marriott on Friday, July 18, 2014.  The winning couple will be responsible for obtaining their own marriage license.
     
    3.    CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE:  The winning couple will be asked to stop by the KSTP-TV Studios, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota, during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) within ten (10) days of the day he/she wins to claim their prize.  When claiming a prize at the KSTP-TV Studios, the winning couple must prove they are the qualified winners by presenting identification acceptable to the sponsors (e.g., state drivers license; state issued identification card; valid passport with address verification; or birth certificate with social security card and photo identification and address verification).  If the winner cannot prove he/she is the qualified winner or does not come to claim his/her prize, another winner will be chosen pursuant to Paragraph 2 above.
     
    4.    PRIZE: There will be one (1) winner in this contest.  The winner will win the following regarding their wedding on Friday, July 18, 2014.  The winning couple must be willing to let Twin Cities Live cameras and staff follow them throughout the wedding planning process and on the day of the wedding.  The prize will consist of the following:

    a.    Venue for Wedding Ceremony and Reception:  

    i.    Wedding Ceremony at 2:30 p.m. in the Great Room at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest, 7025 Northland Drive North, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, for up to one hundred (100) guests.  Value:  $500.

    ii.    Wedding Reception at 4:00 p.m. in the Minnesota Ballroom at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest, 7025 Northland Drive North, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, for up to 100 people.  Event space value is $500.  Also includes plated dinner for up to 100 people, which includes a salad and a chicken entrée with side dishes.  Value is $38.25 per person, which includes tax and service charge.  Any upgrade to the menu or additional guests will be at the cost of the bride and groom.  The reception must end by 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014.

    iii.    Complimentary parking for all guests.

    iv.    The bride and the groom will each receive a guest suite at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest to use to get ready on Friday, July 18, 2014.  Value:  $350.

    v.    One (1) guest suite at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest for the bride and groom to use on the evening of July 18, 2014.  Value:  $175.

    b.    Wedding Gown for the Bride:  Flutter Boutique in Minneapolis will provide a wedding dress for the bride up to a $3,000 value; limited to gowns which can be made available and altered in time for the July 18, 2014, wedding date.  The bride can choose a dress from one of the following designers:  Theia White, Jenny Yoo, Heidi Elnora or the Heidi Elnora Darling Collection.  All costs incurred over the stated value of the prize will be the responsibility of the bride and/or winning couple.  Veil not included in prize.  If the dress needs to be rush ordered, any additional delivery cost will be the responsibility of the winning couple.

    c.    Mother of the Bride Dress:  Flutter Boutique in Minneapolis will provide a dress for the mother of the bride up to a $310 value; limited to dresses which can be made available and altered in time for the July 18, 2014, wedding date.  All costs incurred over the stated value of the prize will be the responsibility of the mother of the bride and/or winning couple.  If the dress needs to be rush ordered, any additional delivery cost will be the responsibility of the mother of the bride and/or winning couple.

    d.    Maid of Honor Dress:  Flutter Boutique in Minneapolis will provide a dress for the maid of honor up to a $310 value; limited to dresses which can be made available and altered in time for the July 18, 2014, wedding date.  All costs incurred over the stated value of the prize will be the responsibility of the maid of honor and/or winning couple.  If the dress needs to be rush ordered, any additional delivery cost will be the responsibility of the maid of honor and/or winning couple.

    e.    Tuxedos:  Heimie's Haberdashery in St. Paul will provide three (3) tuxedo rentals up to a $190 value each to be used by the groom, best man and either the father of the groom or the father of the bride (determined by the winning couple).  All costs incurred over the stated value of the prize will be the responsibility of the groom, best man and/or father of the bride or groom.  Those men receiving the tuxedos must stop by for a fitting prior to Tuesday, July 1, 2014.  Tuxedos must be picked up by the winners on Thursday, July 17, 2014, and returned on Monday, July 21, 2014.  Tuxedo rental includes tuxedo, shirt, shoes and tie.  All tuxedos must be returned to Heimie's Haberdashery in appropriate condition (in accordance with standard store rental regulations) or winner may incur fees.

    f.    Grooming.  The groom and the best man will each receive a hot towel shave and haircut at Heimie's Haberdashery; must be redeemed by Thursday, July 17,2 014.  Shaves are valued at $30 each, and haircuts are valued at $25 each; total value: $110.

    g.    Flowers.  Sweet Pea's Floral will be providing the following:

    i.    A bouquet for the bride; up to $250 value.

    ii.    Bouquets for the attendants; up to a $400 value.

    iii.    Corsages and boutonnieres; up to $300 value.

    iv.    Flowers/decor for the ceremony; up to a $500 value.

    v.    Flowers/decor for the reception; up to a $1,000 value.

        Only includes flower orders which can be completed in time for the July 18, 2014, wedding date.  All costs incurred over the stated value of the prize will be the responsibility of the winning couple.

    h.    Invitations, etc..  The winner will receive $500 to be used towards the purchase of wedding invitations, rsvp cards, thank you notes, etc., from Pear Tree Greetings.  All costs incurred over the stated value of the prize will be the responsibility of the winning couple.

    i.    Wedding Bands.  The winner will receive up to $2,000 from Allure and Greaton's Jewelers to be used for two wedding bands; limited to bands that are in stock and can be resized in time for the wedding date.  All costs incurred over the stated value of the prize will be the responsibility of the winning couple.

    j.    Desserts and/or Wedding Cake.  The winner will receive up to $500 to purchase wedding desserts from Dorothy Ann Bakery.  All costs incurred over the stated value of the prize will be the responsibility of the winning couple.

    k.    Photography.  Studio 220 Photography will provide the following services on the day of the wedding:  seven (7) hours of coverage; lead photographer; assistant photographer; DVD of wedding images with copyright release; on-line viewing gallery.  Plus the bride/groom will be provided with an engagement photo session.  Value:  $1,998.

    l.    Honeymoon.  Two (2) nights hotel accommodations (one room, double occupancy) at Grandview Lodge, 23611 Woodward Avenue, Nisswa, Minnesota.  Based on availability; can be used on weeknights only; must be used by May 1, 2015.  Also includes a $100 gift card to be used at one of the following Grandview Lodge restaurants (gift card can only be used once):  CRU; Grandview Lodge Dining Room; Italian Gardens Restaurant; Northwoods Pub; Loony's Beach Hut, Freddy's Grille; or the Preserve Pub & Grill.  Total value:  $1,300.

    m.    Music/Lighting.  Adagio Djay Entertainment will provide DJ services and all necessary equipment from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014.  The winning couple will also receive up to $3,000 in lighting services for the reception (custom gobos, spotlights, highlights, decorative floor uplighting, intelligent lighting, etc.).  Total value:  $4,200.  All costs incurred over the stated value of the prize will be the responsibility of the winning couple.  

    n.    Viral Photo Booth.  Use of a photo booth from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the reception site (booth also offers videos).  Includes:  props, professional attendant, unlimited prints, plus unlimited emails, texts, Facebook Twitter and Instagram posts, flash drive at the end of the event with all photos and videos for the winning couple, online hosting of event photos and video for one year.  Value:  $1,200.

    o.    Hair and Make-Up.  Hair and make-up provide for the bride and up to five bridesmaids at New Reflections Salon in Plymouth, Minnesota, on the day of the wedding.  Value:  $845.  All costs incurred over the stated value of the prize will be the responsibility of the bride and/or bridesmaids.

    The prizes are not transferable or exchangeable, nor can they be exchanged for cash or credit.  A qualified winner must also meet the eligibility requirements as set forth in Paragraph 5 of these rules.  All income taxes and other taxes are the responsibility of the winner.  A 1099 form will be submitted to all appropriate taxing authorities.  The prize must be accepted in its entirety, and cannot be divided or accepted in part.  This contest is subject to all applicable policies, practices and procedures of each individual sponsor.
     
    5.    ELIGIBILITY:  Couples must be 21 years or older to be eligible to participate in this contest and residents of Minnesota or Wisconsin.  Employees of Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., KSTP-TV, LLC, Flutter, Bridal Boutique, Minneapolis Marriott Northwest, Sweet Pea's Floral, Pear Tree Greetings, Allure, Greaton's Jewelers, Dorothy Ann Bakery, Viral Booth of Minnesota, New Reflections Salon and Heimie's Haberdashery, including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.  Open to couples getting married only and does not pertain to renewal of wedding vows.

        By entering this contest, each entrant is certifying that he or she is not a professional photographer, that the submitted photograph is his or her own original work, and that he or she has the right to allow the publication of the photograph without restriction, and that KSTP-TV's use of the photograph will not infringe the rights of any third parties (e.g., copyrights, rights of publicity, etc.).
     
    6.    CONTEST DEADLINE.  All entries must be received by Twin Cities Live no later than 11:59:59 p.m. on Monday, May 26, 2014  KSTP-TV is not responsible for problems sending the entry or photo, technical or atmospheric conditions that disrupt the completion of the web site entry, or any other problems which might or might not result from this contest.  
     
    7.    RELEASE; CONSENT TO USE LIKENESS, VOICE AND ADDRESS:  The winner must execute an affidavit of eligibility.  The winner (a) agrees to release and indemnify Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., KSTP-TV, LLC, Bridal Boutique, Minneapolis Marriott Northwest, Sweep Pea's Floral, Pear Tree Greetings, Allure, Greaton's Jewelers, Dorothy Ann Bakery, Viral Booth of Minnesota, New Reflections Salon and Heimie's Haberdashery (including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies) from and against any and all liability, claims, damages and actions arising directly or indirectly out of or sustained in connection with the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize(s), and (b) consents to the use by KSTP-TV for promotional purposes only of his and her likeness and/or voice, address (city and state) and his or her contest entry (which may be posted on the KSTP-TV website and/or read on the air and the filming of the wedding preparation and wedding day) without any additional compensation.  By accepting the prize, the winning couple agrees to be bound by these official rules, including the above release.  By entering this contest, each entrant consents to the use of his/her entry on the Twin Cities Live website and/or to be read on the air.  By participating in this contest, each participant agrees to the application of these official rules.  
     
    8.    WINNER LIST:  For the name of the winner, send a separate self-addressed, stamped envelope before June 30, 2014, to Winners List, Twin Cities Live - 42 to Say I Do! Contest, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota  55114.
     
    9.    MISCELLANEOUS:  
     
        Decisions of KSTP-TV concerning any and all matters with respect to this contest shall be final.  KSTP-TV reserves the right to change these rules, as well as the terms and conditions of this contest, without notice.  KSTP-TV reserves the right to change the prize values at any time, or to substitute prizes of comparable value.  Contest void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.  Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable.  KSTP-TV is not responsible for printing errors in the contest materials or these official rules.  If the sponsors determine in their sole discretion that the integrity or fairness of this contest has been corrupted in any manner, the sponsors reserve the right to terminate the contest and to select a winner from among entries legitimately received prior to termination.
