OFFICIAL RULES

1. HOW TO ENTER/PLAY:  NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  In order to enter, from 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013, through 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, go to www.kstp.com, click on the keyword "contests", click on "Senior Spotlight," complete the entry form (which includes your name, address and daytime telephone number and the name, address and daytime telephone number of the senior citizen being nominated, if different from the person submitting the entry) and submit a photograph and brief story (not to exceed 50 words) of a senior citizen that deserves to win tickets to the State Fair and be spotlighted live out at the MN State Fair during our Midday news.  All entries must be received by 5 Eyewitness News no later than Noon on Wednesday, August 21, 2013.  5 Eyewitness News is not responsible for problems sending the entry, technical or atmospheric conditions that disrupt the completion of the entry, or any other problems which might or might not result from this sweepstakes.  Limit, one (1) entry per person/senior citizen; any person submitting more than one entry may be disqualified. In order to be eligible, the photograph must be in focus and the story must be brief and interesting (for example, senior has done something noteworthy – volunteered for Meals on Wheels the last 20 years, etc.).  For purposes of this sweepstakes, senior citizens are defined as 55 or older.  The senior citizen can nominate/enter themselves, or family and friends 18 and older may nominate/enter a senior citizen, but the family or friend must have permission from the senior citizen to submit the entry.

1. HOW THE WINNERS ARE CHOSEN:  From all eligible entries received pursuant to Paragraph 1 above, five (5) entries will be randomly drawn on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at the 5 Eyewitness News Studios.  Each winning senior citizen will receive a pair (2 tickets) of MN State Fair admission tickets, as well as be shown seated in the audience and their story will be featured during weather within the live Midday newscast on Monday, August 26, Tuesday August 27, Wednesday August 28, Thursday, August 29 and/or Friday August 30, 2013.  The winning senior citizens will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail.  The prizes will be awarded to the selected senior citizens.

3.         CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE:  Prize tickets will be mailed to each winning senior citizen’s home address as provided on the entry form. All unclaimed prizes remain the property of 5 Eyewitness News.  5 Eyewitness News is not responsible for problems resulting from the mailing of the prize to each winners' home. 

4.         PRIZES:  There will be five (5) prize winners in this sweepstakes.  Each winning senior citizen will receive 2 tickets to the MN State Fair and be spotlighted live at the state fair during the Midday (11a-Noon) newscast as noted in Paragraph 2, above.  Value of each prize:  $24.  Each winner will be responsible for his/her own transportation to and from the MN State Fair.  A qualified winner must also meet the eligibility requirements as set forth in Paragraph 5 of these rules.  All income taxes and other taxes are the responsibility of the winner.  A 1099 form may be submitted to all appropriate taxing authorities, and by signing the Prize Release, the winner accepts the prize, and even if the winner does not use the prize, he/she will be responsible for the applicable taxes.

Odds of winning are dependent on the number of eligible entries received.

5.         ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS:  Eligible senior citizens must be 55 or older to participate in this sweepstakes and residents of Minnesota or Wisconsin.  Sons/daughters/family members/friends may nominate/enter a consenting senior citizen for this sweepstakes, or the senior citizen may nominate/enter herself/himself. Prizes will be awarded to the senior citizen.  Employees and the immediate family of employees of Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc. or KSTP-TV, LLC, including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies, are not eligible to enter.  Any one participating in this sweepstakes or claiming a prize in this sweepstakes in violation of these rules will be deemed to have forfeited the right to be awarded a prize in this sweepstakes and will be disqualified from participating in 5 Eyewitness News contests or sweepstakes for a period of one year. 

            By entering this sweepstakes, each entrant is certifying that he or she is not a professional photographer or writer, that the submitted photograph/story is his or her own original work, and that he or she has the right to allow the publication of the photograph without restriction, and that KSTP-TV's use of the photograph will not infringe the rights of any third parties (e.g., copyrights, rights of publicity, etc.) featured in the photograph has provided entrant with consent to be depicted in the photograph for purposes set forth in these official rules.

6.         SWEEPSTAKES DEADLINE.  All entries must be received by 5 Eyewitness News no later than Noon on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, to be eligible.  5 Eyewitness News is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, damaged, misdirected or incomplete entries. 

7.         RELEASE; CONSENT TO USE LIKENESS, VOICE AND ADDRESS:  By participating in this sweepstakes, each winner: (a) agrees to release and indemnify Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc. and KSTP-TV, LLC (including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies) from and against any and all liability, claims, damages and actions arising directly or indirectly out of or sustained in connection with the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize(s), and (b) consents to the use by the sponsors for promotional purposes only of his or her likeness and/or voice (including, but not limited to, their photo may be shown on 5 Eyewitness News and/or posted on the website) without any additional compensation.  By accepting the prize, each winner agrees to be bound by these official rules, including the preceding release.  By participating in this sweepstakes, each participant agrees to the application of these official rules. 

8.         WINNERS LIST:  For a list of winners, send a separate self-addressed, stamped envelope before September 20, 2013, to Winners List, Senior Spotlight, 5 Eyewitness News, 3415 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota 55114.

9.         MISCELLANEOUS:  Decisions of 5 Eyewitness News concerning any and all matters with respect to this sweepstakes shall be final. 5 Eyewitness News is not responsible for printing errors in the sweepstakes materials or these official rules. 5 Eyewitness News reserves the right to change these rules, as well as the terms and conditions of this sweepstakes, without notice.  5 Eyewitness News reserves the right to change the prize values at any time, or to substitute prizes of comparable value.  If the sponsors determine in their sole discretion that the integrity or fairness of this sweepstakes has been corrupted in any manner, the sponsors reserve the right to terminate the sweepstakes and to select a winner from among entries legitimately received prior to termination. Sweepstakes is void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.
